Our floor warranty, in plain words
A 10-year limited warranty on a standard residential flake floor, backed by High Coat as the installer. Here is what it covers and what it does not.
How long it lasts
- Standard residential flake floor: 10-year limited warranty.
- Metallic floors: 90-day limited workmanship warranty, unless your proposal or contract states a different period.
- Commercial, specialty and other systems: the period is written in your proposal or contract, because it depends on the products, the space and how the floor is used.
The period in your signed proposal is the one that applies. Coverage starts on the date the work is substantially complete and takes effect once the account is paid in full.
What it covers
Problems that come from our installation:
- Peeling or delamination caused by improper installation.
- Loss of adhesion caused by improper surface preparation or application by High Coat.
- Material failure, where the material is covered by its manufacturer’s warranty.
- Other installation defects that came directly from our workmanship.
If a problem is covered, we repair, recoat or replace the affected area. That does not automatically mean a whole new floor, and a repaired spot may look slightly different in gloss, color or texture.
What it does not cover
Concrete moves, and a coating cannot stop it. The warranty does not cover cracks reopening or showing through, new cracks, joint movement, settling or heaving, or coating damage caused by that movement.
It also does not cover damage from, among other things: water intrusion, flooding, plumbing leaks or groundwater; efflorescence; fire or excessive heat; welding or grinding; chemicals beyond what the coating is rated for; impacts, scratches, gouges and dragged equipment; improper cleaning; tape or adhesives; repairs or coatings added by others; normal wear; and UV fading unless the product maker covers it.
Where we install a moisture barrier base coat, it goes in to the product’s requirements, but it cannot guarantee a slab stays completely dry.
What to expect on appearance
Floors are coated on site, not in a factory. Small things like dust, a stray fiber, a tiny bubble or a roller mark can happen. Minor cosmetic imperfections covering 5% or less of the floor are within normal installation tolerance, as long as they do not affect how the coating holds or performs. That tolerance never applies to peeling, delamination or loss of adhesion.
Flake, metallic and high-gloss finishes vary naturally in pattern and sheen, and gloss can make high and low spots in the concrete easier to see. Samples and photos show the general look, not an exact match.
Your part
Clear vehicles and belongings out of the garage before we arrive, unless your proposal includes it. Keep people and pets off the floor during install and cure, and follow the cure-time and care instructions we give you. Damage from using the floor before it has cured is not covered.
If something goes wrong
Let us know in writing, with photos, and give us a chance to inspect the floor before anyone else repairs it. Repairs by others before we inspect can void coverage for that area. Call or text the number at the top of this page to start.

Straight answers before you book a floor coating
How long is the High Coat warranty?
A standard residential flake floor carries a 10-year limited warranty. Metallic floors carry a 90-day limited workmanship warranty unless your proposal says otherwise. Commercial and specialty systems get the period written in your proposal.
When does the warranty start?
On the date the work is substantially complete. Coverage takes effect once the work is done and the account is paid in full.
Does the warranty cover cracks in my concrete?
No. We may fill or repair existing cracks as part of prep, but a coating cannot stop concrete from moving, so cracks that reopen or new cracks are not covered.
If something is covered, do you redo the whole floor?
Not automatically. We repair, recoat or replace the affected area using the method we judge is right. A repaired spot may look slightly different from the floor around it.
