A city of new subdivisions and older streets
Edmond sits directly north of Oklahoma City. It was founded in the 1889 Land Run, and Route 66 still runs along Second Street. Since 2010 the city has kept growing, so it is now a mix of newer subdivisions and older homes near downtown.
That mix is the whole story for garage floors here. Two garages in different parts of town can need very different prep, depending on when the slab was poured and what has been done to it since.
If your garage is in a newer subdivision
A newer home often comes with a bare, builder-finished slab. It looks ready for a coating, and it may not be. New concrete needs to cure fully before a coating goes on, because trapped moisture and a coating do not get along.

If your garage is in an older home near downtown
An older slab comes with a history. Someone may have rolled on a paint or a sealer years ago. It might be worn through in the tire tracks and still stuck down everywhere else.
Old sealers and coatings may need to come off before a new coating goes on, or the new coat bonds to the old one instead of to the concrete. Loss of adhesion from our installation is what our warranty covers, so prep gets most of the attention. Coating a floor that has history
